Images from this meeting will be progressively uploaded throughout the next few days until all the races are covered.
This was a deeply sad meeting for all of us as the grandfather of one of our racing families passed away in the paddock during the first race. My sincere condolences go out to the family who agreed that the meeting should continue in the true spirit of motor-racing.
All of us present were hugely impressed by the professionalism of the event staff and our regular paramedic team and marshals, the NHS ambulance and first responder, and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance who did all they possibly could for two hours to save the life. Sadly, in vain on this occasion.
People may not know that these Air Ambulance services, like the Lifeboats, are voluntary organisations, staffed by qualified doctors and pilots, whose ONLY source of funding is by donations and legacies from the general public. They organise their own lottery but they receive NO State aid and NO National Lottery funding and yet they are a vital service bringing in specialist treatment and supplies and returning to dedicated hospital facilities where speed is of the essence.
Therefore, the sales of all electronic images from this meeting bought during this month will be given to Thames Valley Ambulance
and if you want to make a separate donation to them direct, here's the link!
