The 185 photos you can view here were originally the random slide show that David Hughes and Michael Gallager Snr created for the joint funeral of their sons held at Doncaster Minster on February 16, 2011. They are a reflection of all aspects of their lives,  in karting and many other sports, with family and friends at home, on holiday, or in school, enjoying life to the full.

Michael Gallagher and Tom Hughes  were  tragically killed together in a road accident on January 30, together with a friend. They were both strong ProKart competitors at PFi, well up in the points and the top of the championship tables, and were expected to be there in the current season as well.  Their presence on the track and around the paddock will be very sadly missed by the many who were involved with them at PFi ProKart.  The February meeting was a memorial to them from the ProKarting fraternity and the two new cups were inaugurated  for an annual competition bearing their names, won for the first time by Nathan Read and Colin Thurnell.

The galleries below will give those who were able to attend the funeral another chance to see the photos and of course, allow those who weren't able to come to the memorial service the opportunity to see them for the first time.

RIP Michael and Tom
